This two-day challenging nature and culture ride offers insights of Hindu and Buddhist religion along with magnificent sunrise, sunset and panoramic views of Langtang Himalayan Range from the popular hill station, Nagarkot.
If the weather remains clear, one can even see the distant view of Mount Everest.
Day 1, Thamel to Nagarkot
We start the ride early in the morning from Thamel in order to escape from the traffic to Boudhanath, where we take part in morning prayers at the 14th century build Boudhanath Stupa and roam around the peaceful stupa. We stroll through the paved road of Jorpati and climb up to Thali along the Gokarna Forest. Crossing Manohara river, we climb steep uphill (3 Km) to Changunarayan, where lies the oldest ancient Hindu temple of the Kathmandu Valley. After sightseeing the temple, we take a tea break. Around two hours natural ride through the Telkot reserve forest takes us to Nagarkot, a popular hill station. In the evening we observe magnificent sunset while the next morning we witness sunrise and panoramic views of Langtang Himalayan Range.
Day 2, Nagarkot to Thamel
After breakfast in the hotel, we climb 4 Km to the Nagarkot Viewpoint from where we see the panoramic views of Eastern and Central Nepal Himalayan Range. We then follow downhill single track trail and reach to Bhaktapur Durbar Square in an hour. After sightseeing the square we ride back to Thamel.
